Penina is primarily known for the Penina Hotel & Golf Resort, which is situated in the Algarve region of Portugal. This resort is historically known as the first golf course in the Algarve. This is due to the owner (Sir Henry Cotton) building the traditional course with 360,000 trees and shrubs it to create a woodland environment on the course.
